Sci-Fi? Business Guides? Children's literature? Yes, all this!
I may seem like a pretty random writer. Well, I am a pretty random writer but I think that is changing as I get into my stride on my first love - science fiction!
My first book, An Infinite Number of Monkeys (July 2013), sounds like sci-fi but is a guide to making effective use of modern communications systems: how to build the right platform, and how to instill the right culture to make it work. It was a book I absolutely had to write, because it mattered to me.
Where from there though? Well, obviously a novel aimed at children.
The Long Way Home (December 2013) is the first book in a sci-fi saga (the Earth Legacy Series) following the exploits of a prince on a distant world far in our future, an eco-themed adventure which looks at what might - just might - be in store for the human race, if we can hold it together that long.
That's it for published books... so far. I have three more in the works, but I will admit that only two are active.
The Barefoot Bard is the next in the Earth Legacy Series, and will pick up the action right where the first book leaves it - producing some more background to the Gonwanan story (and the Earth Legacy universe in general) as we continue to follow Prince Xanda's efforts to save his father's Kingdom from his power-mad brother.
Avast! (a working title) is an adult sci-fi tale with no moralistic bent and quite a lot of bending of the laws of physics, and common sense, in order to spin an entertaining (if not actually funny) futuristic yarn. A blend of Harry Harrison's "Stainless Steel Rat" and Douglas Adams' "Hitchhikers" series'? I certainly hope so. Watch this space for a preview soon!
On the back burner is another adult novel Children of Earth, which I started a few years ago but never finished. It's got potential, and I do hope to return to it some day as it's set in the same universe as the Earth Legacy Series and builds on the picture of my future vision for humanity.
